Customers who do not show up for a flight without changing or canceling their reservation prior to departure will lose the value of their ticket, and we will cancel all remaining flights in the itinerary.
While we are committed to providing you with a faster check-in process, most health documents should be verified within 2 hours once they have been uploaded, though at times it could be longer. If there is a problem with verification, we will be sure to notify you within Delta FlyReady.
For most airports, you must be checked in at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time (airports requiring additional time are listed below, Go to footer note). Additionally, you're required to be at the gate and ready to board 15 minutes before scheduled departure.
Though Delta's basic economy tickets are nonrefundable, if the airline cancels your flight, you're eligible for a full refund. If you used miles for the ticket, Delta will refund the miles and any taxes that were charged.
An open-ended airline ticket is a flight ticket which has no set date for the return leg of the flight, giving you the flexibility to return whenever you'd like with no set date.
If you don't turn up for a flight, you will either be rebooked on another flight, charged a cancellation fee or will lose the entire value of your ticket. Which of these happen will depend on the reasons you are missing the flight, the type of flight/ticket you have booked and whether or not you inform the airline.

The more you spend on full-fare or premium cabin tickets, the better. Not just looking at a total dollar amount, but if you tend to buy full-fare tickets or tickets in business or first class, that may increase your odds of receiving Delta 360° status.
Basically, you should never truly count on upgrades with Delta Silver status – especially if you live in a busy Delta hub. Can I cancel just the return flight?
Unfortunately, you cannot cancel only the return ticket on a round trip flight. Airlines typically require that both legs of the journey be cancelled together in order to receive a refund or credit for future travel.
If you missed your flight and the reason is genuine, you may board the next flight that is scheduled within the next two hours. If there is no flight scheduled on that particular date to the particular destination, you may be assigned the first flight to the same destination the next day.

Hence, if you wish to cancel them, it is advisable to make up your mind within 24 hours of making reservations. Generally speaking, whenever you book a flight on any airline, it treats the trip as one, complete itinerary. If you then don't show up for any portion of it, the rest of the unflown flights will be cancelled and then subject to a change fee and possible fare difference if you then try to rebook.
Skipping the last leg of the flight, however, is perfectly legal, and the only risks are that the connecting airport may change ahead of time, or your bonus points might be canceled for not showing up.
