TIME OF DAY
Specifically, dawn or dusk are generally the best time to go saltwater fishing if the weather and tidal movements are favorable. Remember to reference a saltwater tide chart to see which range of hours during the day will be the best fishing tide times.
Eat mild, starchy foods: Avoid eating heavy, spicy, or fat-rich foods or consuming excessive alcohol before your trip. These foods may worsen seasickness in some people. Try eating bananas, rice, applesauce, or toast instead.
The best time to go 'deep-sea fishing for a variety of medium and larger fish is June or July. You have less competition in June and more so in July. Be sure to check the fishing regulations as they change often.
Ready-made sandwiches are one of my absolute favorites for short fishing trips. You can prepare them easily and quickly just before heading out and bring a small variety with you. Cheese, ham, tomato, salad, grilled, toasted; the possibilities are many.
Shrimp is a go to bait for saltwater anglers. This all-purpose bait works because shrimp are common in saltwater environments and fish are attracted to the scent and movement. Dead or alive shrimp can be used to catch fish onshore or offshore.
While fishing is often thought of as a relaxing recreational activity, deep sea fishing requires a great deal of practice, skill and physical strength — after all, some of these big game fish can weigh a few hundred pounds.
An offshore trip might include several anglers, and the boat might have a mate or two in addition to the captain. Clearly, you can't tip $100 each. Consider tipping the captain $50 and each mate $25. Some will say to tip the mates more than the captain because on some boats tips is all they're working for.
Does alcohol help with seasickness?

Staying leeward (the side of the ship that's sheltered from the wind) will ensure that an unpleasant experience doesn't get even worse. Consider an over-the-counter medication to prevent or minimize motion sickness. A dose is usually recommended about an hour prior to setting sail, and as needed at sea.

The pineapple is also believed to bring good luck, better fishing, and calm seas when brought on a boat. This originally began with island people putting a pineapple on the bow of their boat.
